Having retired, and handed back my company Jaguar X Type 2.2 Diesel Estate (which replaced a superb Rover 75 2.5 V6 estate), I had to buy a car. It was difficult not to buy a 2 litre Focus Ghia, but I now have a BMW 118d.
This is a car that is pig-ugly and rather cramped, but has glamorous cousins!
Just like the Hillman Husky.

You could always drive it with a paper bag over your head...don't forget to cut out holes for your eyes though. Smile

[Chris, Congratulations on your retirement, I thought your company car was the Model T!!!!
Retirement can be a bit strange at first, particularly after a high pressure working life- do not do anything too quickly, take time to get used to it.
Remember, shouting at slow motorists in front of you, wearing a flat hat etc etc " You are wasting my retirement, press the loud pedal" will probably shorten your life.
Ivor,
People often suggest I put a bag over my head. Can't think why.
Had the 118 two months today, so I cleaned it.

GH,
Why must I change my behaviour just because I have retired?
But I don't wear a flat hat.
I made a list of 24 tasks before I retired. I have now done 17 of them.
Item 25 is to make a new list.
