Hi a hard top can prove advantageous for realy bad winter weather although a good condition soft top works well also. The problems with hard tops usually revolve around condition and storage. A good rust free example is hard to find but not impossile, if you keep it on a stand it will take two of you to put it on and remove it from the car, it's not so much that it's heavy more that it is an awkward shape for one person. The best alternative is to suspend it from the garage roof and lower it on to the car, this saves floor space, keeps the top away from accedental damage and makes installation and removal a one man job. There have been one or two articals in The Horn regarding this over the last few years if you would like a scaned copy please let me know.
