I know from the combinations on the campsite at Nationals that some of you tow caravans with your Alpines so I am hoping you can offer some guidance.
The manufacturer of my lightweight caravan (typically 600-650kg with contents) recommends a nose weight of 50-65kg, but there always seems to be a compromise between what is best for the caravan and what is best for the car. My inclination is to err on the low side of the recommended range when towing with the Alpine.
I hope to make a few experimental runs before setting off for Warwick but any advice from experienced Alpine Caravanners would be welcomed.

I've never towed a caravan, but the approach you describe is sensible. The springs are fairly soft and the rear overhang is large. I suggest a nose weight which drops the bumper about 2" - and certainly no more than the 65kg max recommended weight for your van. Maybe try 40kg first?
