If you had a solid week to do it in, you probably could! Unfortunately I have two kids and a full time job which means I have to grab time when I can.
The thing that has taken the most time with the interior so far is stripping down the thick tar stuff that was all over the floors. It looked absolutely awful and I wanted to make sure the floors were all rust free. It took about 25 hours hard work to strip it all with a wire brush on an angle grinder and some automotive paint stripper. The stuff was just sooo thick and also quite toxic! The smell of the stuff was terrible, even though I was wearing a 3M face mask. I was pleased to find no rust and once it was all done I coated it in POR15 paint and it looks lovely!
It's not until you strip everything down that you realize how much there is to do. I've still got to paint all the little things like the steering cowl, seat subframes and seat end caps. Ideally you need the Churchill special tool to do it, but the chances of finding one are very slim. A couple of people have suggested removing the shaft and hub as an assembly and having the hub pressed off, but I'm concerned this might damage the half-shaft irreparably. I'm currently on the look out for a
