Hi to you all....my first post.

Does any body have any information on a red 1962 Alpine with grey interior that may help me with its purchase.

The car has been modified with a later engine and twin 40s but seems in very good condition.....it has been in Somerset for some time i think.

Many thanks

dandpl

Hi.

It's on the club's database ID Number 19 but we have no current information since 2004.

Hi,

Just to put some meat on the bones of this one, I have been lucky enough to have purchased 433 EXX a couple of weeks ago, after looking at several 'interesting', shall we say, examples of Aplines.

I don't, however, have a great deal of history with the car as it seems to only go back to 2004. I understand the car is Registered ID No 19 with the club and I was wondering if you or anyone in the club were able to fill in any of the history however brief, as anything would help. Having read back through the many Horns ( raised eyebrows from my wife!) I was given, I found an advert offering it for sale in Feb 2004 No 150. I believe it was restored in about 1998/9 although I have nothing to confirm this.

If there is anyone who can help me with this, I would be grateful.

The obvious thing to do is contact the previous owners, you might say, however, a word to the wise. Not everone has the same enthusiasm for Classic Cars we might have and extreem caution should be taken when contacting previous owners, or their wives! I fell into this situation, as it seems others had contacted him/her before, and were not quite as diplomatic as I like to think I tried to be.

There is also the issue that as the further back you try to go, the greater the chances are that the previous owner may well have gone to the big AutoJumble in the sky! Please be warned!
