I'm not sure anyone's interested, but here is my Series V in semi stripped state...after many months of hold ups, mostly due to business (wish I was retired, like our web site administrator) things are beginning to crack on and I now have the bit between my teeth.

Apart from the damage you can see at the front, some "inspection holes" in the floors and a bit of rot in the the top of the scuttle the body is virtually rot free, which in my view, with an Alpine is half the battle won, before you've even started!

I'm dropping the engine gearbox and K frame complete with the front suspension straight out of the bottom (the reverse of what they did at the factory, I believe) and then it's straight onto the rotisserie for stripping and welding...I'll take some more snaps and bore you all to death in due course! Wink

Well this should keep you out of mischief for a while! Good Luck. Look forward to your updates, we can all learn from each others problems.

You've done it now... Wink Even with an impact driver, the door hinge screws refuse to budge, I've warmed them up with oxy acetylene as well, looks like I'm going to have to drill them all, which is going to be fun, especially as you cant actually get a drill to them all Rolling Eyes

Well, I ended up having to drill out all the hinge screws to get the doors off, then I spent the next four weekends removing the dashboard, all the wiring, the heater, the steering, clutch and brake linkages and then relaxed and read the excellent SAOC 50th Anniversary book!

That's when I looked closely at the photographs of the assembly line in Coventry and like a lot of Mopars in the 'States, good old Chrysler in the UK mounted the engine, gearbox, front crossmember, suspension and steering from underneath in one lump.

So that's the way I took it out!

Next comes the petrol tanks, off with the back axle, then I'm going to see if I have enough pennies to get the shell soda blasted.
